An animation submitted to the RSA's Student Design Awards, Moving Pictures Brief.
The brief asked for the creation of an animation to 'clarify, energise and illuminate' the audio file.
My response used evocative organic illustration in a frame-by-frame hand drown style. The work brings to life the words of Roman Krznaric, Author of The Good Ancestor, who writes about legacy thinking beyond the familial sense. I chose to build upon the initial brief, working with a music production friend; Solvem Probler, to include music and sound effects to foster a stronger emotional connection with the viewer and consequently to encourage reflection.
After watching, prompt cards provide a vehicle for further action amongst the audience. The cards use simple language and open-ended questions to encourage speculation about how things could be, giving families the tools to collectively consider a preference for the future.
